The Din of Abandon
October 10th – (Game 1)
Disregard the missing pages, I found this journal discarded in the streets yesterday with the attempts of ugly images on the removed pages. Good riddance. I woke with a start this evening when some ghastly figure touched my leg. He had apparently been watching me sleep- awkward- but found that when he started moving away I had the strongest compulsion to follow the boy. I grabbed my things, including this journal which had not yet been removed from my bag, and followed him into the forest as the usual drizzle began to fall. There were several others following other boys… who somehow managed to form one boy and spoke some kind of riddle which I don’t remember. To be frank, I was distracted by this disturbing display but it said something about it’s “Mother calling” and …we’ll see if anyone else can remember.
Well… it left and we fell into this hole and some nasty looking rats started attacking us. I’m sure they were rabid or addled in some way – one definitely poisoned me, though I was able to find some help in removing the affliction- however, curiously, there was also a hallway and doors… I wonder if the ghastly figures were actually magic illusions or were they really ghosts? Who knows. I should have charged the other hallway which housed some stairs so that I might have been able to stop whoever might have been responsible, but I can not dwell on that now. Those who followed the figures are here with me until the end of this night, a motley crew with one other human- an old man, a halfling, a tiefling, a high elf and a half elf… the last of which is quite contrary to my instruction.
